Acting Scoop

The word “Acting” covers such a broad range of things. From being an actor to a director to playwright or screenwriter, or perhaps a casting director, a makeup artist or stage hand…there is so much that falls under the simple title of “Acting”.

If you choose to be an actor, you then need to learn about the different types of actors there are before deciding on what type of actor you wish to be. We always recommend that you train in all areas: Theater, Film Acting and Commercials. In addition, there are classes that you can take that will give you the basic foundation of skill that needs to be built and can be applied towards all genres.

It is important that you realize that before you are eligible to sign on with an acting agency you must have some acting workshops under your belt. There are acting schools or private instruction offered by individuals. You are more than welcome to contact agencies about their open call procedures, but keep in mind that when you attend casting calls, you are competing against seasoned and trained individuals. One way to get some stuff on your resume is to try to work on films as an extra.

If you are interested in other areas of the industry and what they have to offer, it is suggested that you take some classes at local colleges to educate yourself on all that the Acting Industry has to offer.
